DigiStrip®

Fetal Monitor Presentation System

During delivery, the only way for an infant to "talk" to us is through a series of monitors. One of the most crucial documents of labor is the fetal monitor strip, or fetal heart tracing, which documents activity and stresses on the baby during the labor process. If an infant is catastrophically injured during labor and delivery, evidence can be found here.

In its most basic form, the DigiStrip® gives a user the ability to control the speed of the strip and the ability to play, pause, stop, rewind, and fast-forward. A scroll bar enables the user to access areas of the strip quickly and efficiently.

For questions about DigiStrip®, or to discuss a particular case, please call us at 800.749.2184 or contact us for information. Also, check out our Birth Trauma animations which bring your injured infant cases to life with dramatic visual technology.

The DigiStrip® can be customized with a wide variety of features to fit the specific nature of your case. The examples listed below are by no means exhaustive of all of our capabilities or your options. If you have an idea, but do not see it here, we can make it happen.

Highlighting Tool
Just like taking a yellow highlighter to a piece of paper, use the mouse to draw immediate attention to any place on the tracing.

Annotation Tool
Like placing sticky notes on the strip, you can type in whatever memo needed.

Search by Time and/or Panel
Not all of the strip will be relevant. Type in a time or panel number and immediately jump to that exact point in the tracing.

Drop-Down Menus
Access stored information as it relates to the case. These menus may be accessed at any time, and the types of information and formats are essentially unlimited. Examples include: Definitions, Documents, Textbook Overlays, Highlighting and Symbols.

Baseline Tool
Demonstrate the baseline fetal heart rate at any point on the tracing by utilizing this powerful tool. Simply drag the colored line to represent the beats per minute at that particular point on the tracing.

Screen Blackout
Black out the right half of the strip when you want to focus on a smaller portion. This helps focus the audience by preventing them from "reading" ahead.

Landmark Events
Your case will have specific events that are most important for the jury to absorb. Each "Landmark Event" can be chronicled with a marker along the DigiStrip® scroll bar, and the user can immediately advance to that point in the strip without having to needlessly scroll through the strip. There is also a scripted roll-over feature, which allows for easy identification of each landmark by simply "mousing-over" each marker.

Pop-Ups
Display identifying marks or text automatically throughout the DigiStrip®. This feature can also come with an "On/Off" switch.

Real Time
The DigiStrip® normally runs at a speed of one minute of strip per second. A real time button can be added to show the true speed of a strip. This can emphasize that the person who monitored the strip during labor was in fact not being bombarded by a fast moving strip full of data, and actually had plenty of time to read and interpret the strip.
